Maheen is the Diversity & Inclusion Advisor at Cancer Research UK (CRUK). She is responsible for communicating the organisation’s diversity agenda and strategically supports seven employee resource groups and 40 inclusion champions across the charity. Previously Maheen managed the communication channels for an early diagnosis programme run in partnership with the NHS and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Maheen is currently part of Runneymede Trust’s Reframing Race Programme, working with other activists to reframe the public conversation around race, racism and racial equality. She relaunched and Co-Chaired the BAME Network at CRUK with a focus on empowering ethnic minority staff and driving better representation at the leadership level. Prior to this she chaired the Multi-Faith Network.
Maheen graduated from the University of Southampton with a bachelor’s degree in English and then went on to receive her Masters in English Literary Studies. She also has a CIM level 4 Marketing qualification.
