Tom Rowlands-Rees leads Bloomberg NEF’s analysis on Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The teams in his group provide cutting edge market research on trends in power markets, gas, carbon and energy policy.
Tom’s involvement in diversity and inclusion began when he joined the Bloomberg Black Professional Community in 2014, for whom he leads the Leadership and Development Pillar. He has been a member of the TNON Steering Committee since March 2018.
Outside of work Tom co-founded Cinema Kpatakpata, a film production company based in Nigeria. He wrote and produced Confusion Na Wa, which won Best Picture at the 2013 Africa Movie Academy Awards and was one of the first African movies acquired by Netflix. He is also a member of East London dance collective Rain Crew which, as well as performing and teaching dance, runs a number of community-oriented initiatives and events within the area.
Prior to joining Bloomberg Tom completed his PhD in Physics at Oxford University.
